Step 1 Make your decision! Sounds obvious. But you first have to actually make your decision to get started. No more "I'm going to do it" - actually place the order for your registration pack and "do it".
Step 2 is to get hold of (order) your registration pack, which may or may not also come with some products / trial services. Usually these are a standard investment, with the option to invest further as you get started with the training.

Step 6 is to start your first 90 day plan with business activities. This does not include "admin" and "sharpening your pencils". It means income producing activities. These may be slightly different depending on which home business you are working with. But I would still guarantee it revolves around finding clients and working with them one way or another.
Step 7 - is to repeat step 6 as many times as required. Making an effort to improve your skills and get better each time. If you work harder on yourself than you do on your home business you will keep improving and moving forwards. If you stop working on yourself your home business will also stop moving forwards. Unless you have already reached the top levels in which case fine!

IMO is all depends upon your niche. But for most I would say it can be part of your mix.
Particularly if you find something that works well for you, then you just duplicate it.
There are some pretty inexpensive offline methods. But then again, a ton of your audience offline is going to be completely ignorant to online procedures etc.
Just look at how ignorant many online marketers are and then equate that to the average Joe who can't even send a decent email.
Again, it's all about ROI, whether you're investing time or money.

Well that's one way but a bit slow to ramp up and get results (read make money) in my experience. I prefer now the greater speed of building an email database end promoting affiliate offers through the email series.
Just watched over a guys shoulder as he put 3000 subscribers on in under 3 days and started to draw dollars from them.
I've never been quite that fast but I do OK. Round figures is that every subscriber to a well nurtured and targeted list is worth a dollar a month on average, and that's been my experience - actually I do better then that.
One dollar a month sounds like peanuts doesn't it? But you have to understand the power of the multiplier - 3000 subscribers = $3000 a month

Constant itunes updates, security updates that break your entire system, or stop some part of your software from working (lucky I don't use Windows much), toolbar updates, addon updates, full program updates that you have to do or they stop it being compatible with something else that's just been updated...
