3 Myths About Working From Home

Working from home is a dream come true for most people, but there are some myths associated with home businesses. Before you buy into the hype, read these 3 myths about working from home.

Myth #1: You Can't Work at Home With Kids

This myth has been busted by thousands of women who have worked at home and raised their children at the same time. While it is true that kids can place unique demands on work at home moms, it is possible to manage a family and manage a business at the same time. All it takes is effort, patience, and dedication.

Myth #2: You Can't Do Your Own Taxes

There are many benefits to hiring a professional during tax time, but the thought that you can't do your own taxes if you work at home is nothing but a myth. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provides many resources right on their website for individuals who work at home. If you have a question about anything, you can find the answer there or you can contact the IRS directly.

Myth #3: You'll Get Rich Quick

While it is possible to make a very good living working at home, it's hard to find a get rich quick scheme that actually works. The myth that you can get rich quick by working at home stems from all of those envelope stuffing ads that plague our society. The truth is, that just like any business, a work at home business requires time, dedication, and effort if you want to get rich--or make a decent living.

How to Avoid Conflict With a Partner While Working From Home

Conflict with Partner is one of the major obstacles facing business owners both men and women. Business owners tend to spend countless hours to get their business off the ground and start making profits. Having an angry partner will only cause more anxiety, stress and leave them with an additional obstacle to overcome.

It is important that you maintain a positive attitude towards your business and if your family is working against you, that becomes almost impossible. On the hand, remember not to devote so much time to your business that you completely neglect your family.

So how do you manage such a critical situation?

The key issues are simple yet very effective. Intensive communication and time management are the keys to considerably minimize such conflicts.

Here are some tips to help you maintain a healthy balance:

1. If you are just starting out, ensure that you have an additional source of income such as a part time job to cover your basic living expenses until your online business takes off.

2. Be honest and tell your partner about your desire to succeed, your ambitions and your reasons for running your own business.

3. Explain that setting up and running a business whether online or offline needs a lot of time and effort to get it off the ground before your start to reap the rewards.

4. Explain the benefits of working from home such as saving on rent, travel time and being able to set your own hours.

5. Keep your partner well informed of your business progress, your ups and downs, your tears and joys. Share with them your business stories.

6. Ask for their help, opinion on certain issues, like their opinion on your website design, your sales letter, and your ideas. Make them feel part of your business and their opinion is important to you.

7. Organize your time, share your morning coffee with them, your lunch, and give them your full attention when you are with them... Of course they will get mad if the first thing you do once you wake up in the morning is rush to your PC ignoring them...

8. Don't be selfish, always put yourself in their shoes, we all need love and attention whether males or females.

9. Set time limits and a work schedule to accommodate your families' needs, you don't need to work 24 hours seven days a week.

10. Help with the house chores; look after the kids, especially if your partner is working out side home.

11. Spend your time online ONLY to grow your business even if you have to give up other interesting things for a start. If you have a spare hour, spend it with your partner not surfing the net.

12. No matter how much your love your partner or they love you, one of the reasons that trouble gets initiated is the fact that you are seeing too much of each other especially if your partner is not working, so why not consider renting a small office or share an office with a friend where you can go and work there during the day.

13. Time spent with your partner should be well spent, give them your full attention no matter how busy you are with your business, make a habit of going out together for dinner once a week, or even book a room in a hotel at least once a month (if you are making enough money online, well... you should be if you are spending endless hours on your computer).

14. Once you start making money online ... show them the benefits.

15. Why not consider introducing the online business to your partner, who knows maybe they will be the next online guru.

One last advice and please keep it in your mind:

YOU DON'T WANT TO GAIN A BUSINESS AND LOSE A PARTNER OR A FAMILY

We all need to maintain a healthy balance between our family our business.

Top 4 Problems of Mail Order Work from Home

The Mail Order Business is a trillion dollar industry, and within itself, is legitimate. Mail order scams usually involve purchasing the reseller rights to money making materials that have been "proven" to attract buyers. Marketing is usually done with direct mail. Direct mail is buying name and address lists of "business opportunity seekers," then sending them copies of your sales letter, testimonials, order form, etc. Money is made when someone purchases one of the money making guides that you have the right to resell. Sometimes earnings are commission based. Mail order is a proven money maker and perhaps the original work from home endeavor.

So what's the deal with these mail order programs? Are they just hype or can you follow their directions and get rich working from home? Read on for the truth you must know about mail order programs.

The first problem of mail order home based businesses is that you need a great sales letter and at least an average product. The majority of the sales letters you get in "packages" of reseller material are already being used in abundance all across the internet. This cripples their effectiveness. Overall, most of the materials you buy the reseller rights to aren't very good.

The second problem of mail order home based businesses is that you'll lack the desire. Ask yourself, "Do I really want to deal with a bunch of customers, sales issues, inventory management troubles, marketing, and the whole nine yards?" You probably don't.

The third problem of mail order home based businesses is that you'll lack of confidence. You will not be confident in the information you are selling and that will be one of your biggest problems.

The fourth problem of mail order home based businesses is that direct mail marketing involves high risk. It is expensive, difficult to test, and requires continuous management. It takes years of experience and multiple experiments to finally perfect the art and science of direct mail marketing. If you decide to use direct mail as your primary means of advertising to your target audience, you will discover that with a good piece of mail you can realistically generate a 1% to 2% response rate on a consistent basis. This means that if you send out 1,000 catalogs or sales letters you might convert 10 or 20 sales, if you get lucky. If you like those kinds of odds go for it.

Conclusion

There have been thousands of people who have fallen victim of mail order scams. Innocent people who simply want to earn an extra income from the comfort of their homes find themselves cheated by con artists who take advantage of their hopeful attitudes. There are legitimate companies out there offering real work at home opportunities for those interested. Unfortunately, home based business scams are at an all time high. It has become harder to find legitimate work from home operations. Before you think about investing in a mail order program, consider the guidelines above and do whatever seems wisest.

Joe Cooper has researched and experimented with over 275 home based business opportunities over 25 years. How to Find the Best Work From Home Opportunities For Moms

Staying at home is a huge sacrifice that new moms face once they make that decision.  Saying good bye to a paycheck, yet working harder than ever to care for a household and their child or children.  So, you look for ideas for a home business that will truly bring in an income and will justify you not going to a job and putting the kids in daycare.  The truth is, there are many good work at home opportunities out there just waiting to be taken advantage of.  You need to beware, of course, for the ones that make grandiose promises of financial freedom.  As our moms told us, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."  This especially is true when researching work from home opportunities.

There are get rich quick schemes all over the net, and it is your responsibility to identify them and disqualify them immediately.  So many people have wasted time and money on these "opporutnities", and they get discouraged and never try again.

Good news!  There ARE legitimate work at home opportunities.  It is not easy, and don't let anyone tell you it is.  You may or may not have to spend some money to get started.  Keep the following in mind when researching a company

1. What product are they selling?  Some companies sell a product and want you to be a distributor.  Most of these are MLM or multi-level marketing companies, which is a fantastic business model for getting started in your own business for a low start-up cost. You need to find out what the product is and if the price they are selling it for is reasonable.  Many MLM companies have good products, but can be overpriced because of the numerous levels that have to get paid, so again, do your research.

Because of the business I am in, I know many people who are MLM-ers and do very well, but I also know many who have gotten into the business thinking they were going to be rich quickly, and after a couple weeks, they got discouraged and quit.  As with anything, start out slow and be patient.  Hard work will pay off!

2. How much money does it cost to get started?  Some companies charge a small fee for shipping, others require large sums of money to get started, as in franchise start ups.  Again, you need to do your research before you spend a dime.  It can be very frustrating when a company gets your attention, you get excited, and they ask for money before you know what product the company represents.  Beware of these, as they may be scams.  As a business person, asking for a nominal fee to cover your marketing and/or shipping costs is reasonable.  It also "weeds" out the people who aren't really serious about going into business, "tire kickers", if you will.  However, make sure to get as much free information first.

3. How serious are you?  Honestly...how serious and ambitious are you?  Really think about this question.  Understand that no matter what any company can promise you, the bottom line is you are in control of your success. As humans, we are more afraid of success than we are of failure!  It's easy to fail...just throw your arms up and be done!  But to succeed takes a lot of guts, hardwork and time.  If you look at the people in your life who are successful, they never give up. I guarantee if you ask those people if they have ever failed, they will probably laugh and tell you that they have failed more times than they have succeeded.  Success isn't a sure thing.  Only YOU know if you can commit what you need to for a successful outcome.

Being in business for yourself and having the flexibility to be there for your children when they need you is a dream for anyone.  Or maybe you don't have to work for financial reasons, but you want something to do for yourself.  Starting a home based business is a gratifying and exciting adventure that I think moms should try.  Again, DO YOUR RESEARCH and then GO FOR IT!!!

Discover the Top 5 Reasons Why to Work From Home

Why work from home?? In the past year I have often been asked the same question over and over again. Even though I actually enjoy all the benefits of working at home and have more free time than most people, I still feel, it might be useful to give you my Top 5 reasons. This way when somebody asks me this same question again, I can just send this article and go straight back to being lazy.

1. Never again will somebody else tell you what to do. This truly is the biggest benefit of all. I am a person who has a hard time taking orders from anybody, I used to work as a Regional Manager setting up car- and motor bike workshops all over the world and although this was a job where I was on my own most of the time, there still was a board of directors telling me what to do. You will not know how good this feels till you experience it!!

2. You can start the day whenever You feel like it.

Can you remember the last time you had a late night with friends? Perhaps had a bit to much to drink.. Then you can probably also remember how you felt when you had to get up early the next morning to go to work. Wasn't it awful? You could be doing what I do, sometimes I start at eight in the morning, sometimes I only work in the evening since I decided to spend the day with my two year old son. It is totally up to me.

3. Money keeps coming in, even if you don't work.

This is also one which creates an amazing feeling, just try to imagine, you have been out and about enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon with friends or family and your money machine keeps working. You come back home and check your sales statistics and guess what.. You have made more money then you would have been able to spend that same day. Believe me, I am still checking my statistics every Sunday!!

4. There are no limits to what you can earn on line. Once you have discovered how to make something profitable on line, either through work at home offers or selling something through your own web site, you can do it over and over again. That is the beauty of the internet, you can make your work at home business almost fully automatic which means you can keep repeating. Like I said, No Limits.

5. You have the unique opportunity to help others.

In the normal business making a good income often means thinking of yourself instead of helping other people. In the on line community the best way to making a good income is by helping others. The more ways you find to educate and stimulate people on how to become successful on line and help them along the way, the more you will be rewarded. That's the way I like to do business and it puts a smile on my face while thinking about it.

Well, there you have it, my personal top 5 on why you should start to work from home. I sincerely hope that these reasons will stimulate you to keep on searching for that one opportunity you need to become successful on line. Believe me, there are plenty off people out there capable of pointing you in the right direction.

Raising Your Family, While Working From Home

Working at home is not new; it existed in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance. According to one survey, about 40 percent of the total work force is either work-at-home, or self-employed. This is projected to rise about 20 percent each year.

Is working at home for everyone? Definitely not! Not everyone is able to handle being socially isolated. Not everyone is organized enough. Only you know what you are capable of doing.

You definitely have to be motivated and serious about this for it to work. If you are

serious about working at home, you will probably find a way to make it work for you. If

you desire to work, but want a schedule with your family, consider a part-time job you

can take while your children are at school. If you have a great desire of certain goals you

want to achieve, take a full-time job for a short time. But remember your children.

There are many benefits to working in the home, but the most important that come to my mind are:

• Time with the family. This is one of the greatest benefits.

• The flexible schedule. You save on sick time, take a vacation (if you have things in balance), and have an open schedule for things that may come up.

• Convenience. You couldn’t find a better place to work.

• Reduced costs. You eliminate lunches out, clothing, gas, parking, and traffic.

• Fewer workplace distractions. You get more hours actually on the clock.

• The potential to achieve a great income.

• Healthier body, spirit, and mind!

There are many people changing work schedules because they are tired of the heavy toll that commuting takes on their lives. Workplace and commuting stress can result in high-blood pressure, chronic headaches, back pain, alcoholism, drug abuse, and disease.

Some companies now offer a compressed work week; many are even offering a

telecommute schedule. The compressed work week offers 10-hour work days, allowing a

three day weekend every week. Nearly eight million employees now work at home

during normal business hours, according to Link Resources. This fastest growing part of

the work-from-home population is made up of salaried workers, better known as

“telecommuters” or “teleworkers.” This not only saves on the wear and tear of the

employees, it also saves expense for the employers.

For a full resource of legitimate work at home resources find time to visit:

[http://www.newonlineadsense.com] and [http://www.achristianmothersguide.com]. If you are serious

about finding work at home, I encourage you to visit these sites and search your heart for

what you may want to do. It’s not going to work with the first thing you find to do. This

is where persistence and motivation come into play. You have to be determined you will

find your passion and desire and stick with it.
